1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how TAG GO LIMOUSINE - L.L.C - S.P.C., trading as "TAGGO" ("TAGGO", "we", "us", "our"), a company established in the Emirate of Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, collects, uses, discloses, and protects personal data when you use the TAGGO mobile application, website (taggo.ae), and related services (the "Platform"), whether as a User booking Services or a Partner registering as a driver, vehicle owner, or company.

TAGGO processes personal data in accordance with UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data (the "PDPL") and other applicable UAE data-protection requirements. This Policy should be read together with our Terms & Conditions.

TAG GO LIMOUSINE - L.L.C - S.P.C. acts as the data controller for personal data processed through the Platform.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information You Provide

• Account details: name, mobile number, email address, password, profile photo, and preferred language.
• Identity and verification documents: Emirates ID, passport, UAE Pass identity data, driving licence, and, for Partners, vehicle registration card (Mulkiya), trade licence (for companies), and background-check information required for onboarding as a driver, vehicle owner, or fleet/franchise operator.
• Payment information: card details are collected and processed directly by our licensed third-party payment processor; TAGGO does not store full card numbers.
• Communications: messages you send to support, in-app chat between Users and Partners (which may be masked/anonymised), and call-masking metadata.
• Booking details: pickup/drop-off addresses, cargo descriptions, rental preferences, and recovery request details you enter.

2.2 Information Collected Automatically

• Location data: real-time GPS location during an active Booking (for dispatch, live tracking, ETA calculation, fare calculation, and SOS/emergency features), and, with your permission, background location to improve dispatch accuracy.
• Device and usage data: device identifiers, IP address, operating system, app version, crash logs, and in-app interaction data.
• Trip and service history: routes taken, fares charged, ratings given and received, and cancellation history.

2.3 Information From Third Parties

• UAE Pass and government verification services, used to confirm identity where you opt to verify this way.
• Background-check and licensing-verification providers used to verify Partner eligibility.
• Payment processors, who share transaction confirmation and fraud-risk signals with us.

3. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account and TAGGO ID, and verify your identity and eligibility.
• To operate the Platform's core functions: matching and dispatching Bookings (including through AI-assisted dispatch), calculating fares, processing payments, and enabling Ride, Rental, Cargo, and Recovery services.
• To enable safety features, including SOS, live trip sharing, and incident investigation.
• To provide customer support and respond to enquiries, complaints, or disputes between Users and Partners.
• To detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms.
• To comply with legal, regulatory, and law-enforcement obligations in the UAE, including transport-authority reporting requirements.
• To send you service notifications (booking confirmations, receipts, safety alerts) and, where you have consented, marketing communications about new services or promotions. You may opt out of marketing communications at any time.
• To improve and develop the Platform, including analytics on service quality and dispatch performance.

4. Legal Bases for Processing

We process your personal data on one or more of the following bases recognised under the PDPL:

• Performance of a contract - to provide the Services you request or the Partner services you register to provide.
• Consent - for optional features (e.g. marketing communications, precise background location) which you may withdraw at any time without affecting the lawfulness of prior processing.
• Legal obligation - to comply with UAE law, including transport, tax, and anti-fraud regulation.
• Legitimate interest - for safety, fraud prevention, and service improvement, balanced against your rights and interests.

5. How We Share Your Information

• Between Users and Partners: to fulfil a Booking, we share the information necessary for the Service - for example, a Rider's name, pickup location, and masked contact number with the assigned driver, or a User's identity with a rental Partner.
• Service providers: payment processors, cloud hosting and mapping providers, SMS/push notification providers, identity-verification and background-check providers, and customer-support tooling providers, each bound by confidentiality and data-protection obligations.
• Regulators and authorities: UAE federal and Emirate-level transport authorities (e.g. RTA, DoT), police, and courts, where required by law, to investigate an incident, or to respond to a valid legal request.
• Corporate transactions: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, subject to equivalent confidentiality protections.
• We do not sell personal data to third parties for their own independent marketing purposes.

6. International Data Transfers

Personal data is primarily hosted and processed within data centres serving the UAE. Where data is transferred outside the UAE (for example, to a cloud infrastructure or payment-processing provider with servers abroad), TAGGO ensures an adequate level of protection through contractual safeguards consistent with PDPL requirements before making such a transfer.

7. Data Retention

We retain personal data for as long as necessary to provide the Platform, comply with UAE legal, tax, and regulatory retention requirements (including transport and financial record-keeping rules), resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Identity-verification and trip records for Partners are generally retained for the duration of the Partner relationship plus the statutory retention period thereafter. When no longer required, data is securely deleted or anonymised.

8. Data Security

We apply administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal data against unauthorised access, disclosure, alteration, or destruction, including encryption in transit, access controls, and restricted internal access to identity and payment data. No system is completely secure, and we encourage you to protect your account credentials and notify us promptly of any suspected unauthorised access at [email protected].

9. Your Rights

Subject to the conditions and exceptions set out in the PDPL, you have the right to:

• access the personal data we hold about you;
• request correction of inaccurate or incomplete data;
• request erasure of your data, subject to our legal and legitimate retention needs;
• object to or request restriction of certain processing, including direct marketing;
• request a copy of your data in a portable format, where technically feasible;
• withdraw consent previously given, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal;
• lodge a complaint with the UAE Data Office if you believe your data has been processed unlawfully.

10. Children's Privacy

The Platform is not directed at, and should not be used by, individuals under 18 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If we become aware that we have inadvertently collected such data, we will delete it promptly.

11. Cookies and Similar Technologies

The taggo.ae website and app use cookies and similar technologies (such as device identifiers and SDKs) to keep you signed in, remember preferences, measure performance, and, where you consent, support analytics and marketing. You can control cookies through your browser or device settings; disabling certain cookies may limit some website functionality.

12. Third-Party Links and Services

The Platform may contain links to or integrations with third-party services (such as UAE Pass, mapping providers, or payment gateways). This Policy does not cover the privacy practices of those third parties, which are governed by their own privacy notices.

13. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or legal requirements. Material changes will be notified through the app or by email at least 7 days before taking effect. The "Effective date" at the top of this Policy indicates when it was last revised.

This Policy applies to both Users and Partners of the Platform. Where our Terms of Service or Partner Agreement use defined terms (such as "Booking" or "TAGGO ID"), those terms have the same meaning here.
